Board of Trustees Here is a mini-biography of the Board of Trustees for Footprints. Carol Dass - Founded Footprints, lives in Gloucester. She has partly retired and so has more time for Footprints. Although she works part time and spends time on work with Footprints, she makes sure she has leisure time. Carol enjoys going to the gym, loves cooking Indian food, and enjoys reading and music. She has completed a course in Reiki Healing, and qualified as a healer and a teacher. She has also completed two years study of British Sign Language and so is able to communicate with deaf people. Carol is currently writing a book which is nearly complete. The title is 'Turning Wine into Water' and is about her life with Paul, experiences shared with him, how his alcohol dependency affected both his life and hers and their relationship. Tracey - A single mum, living in Gloucester with her two young children. Her past career was in the banking industry as a departmental manager with a large national bank. Tracey and Carol worked together for some time in the bank and after Carol left the bank, they remained friends. Tracey has an interest in the holistic approach and hopes to do more in that field sometime in the future. She has completed level 1 of Reiki Healing and also completed a course in Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage. She brings considerable managerial expertise to the Board of Trustees. Sarah - Lives in Derbyshire with her two young children (and a third on the way!), and her partner Perry. Sarah is Paul's eldest child and she gave her Dad lots of support through his dependence on alcohol. Sarah has two brothers and two sisters and they all live near her. With a young family Sarah doesn't have time for hobbies as yet! Sarah's experience as a carer for her Dad and her knowledge and experience of issues concerning alcohol, makes her a very welcome addition to the Board of Trustees. Lucy and Alan are husband and wife and live in Gloucester with their cat Benni and their rabbit Tarragon. Carol and Lucy worked together for a while and they became friends. Alan works in the finance industry and Lucy works for a brewery (ironic isn't it but we forgive her!). Lucy and Alan have a wide circle of friends and are hardly ever at home as they enjoy spending time with both family and friends. Both of them have always been supportive of Footprints and seem to be our 'solutions' people, coming up with a simple, workable solution to a question or problem. Lucy was the very first Footprints Support Worker. She was at the first group meeting in April 2004 and attended many meetings after that, until personal commitments meant she had to take a break. Lucy therefore has first hand knowledge and experience of how the groups work and the support that people find there. < People |
